2. Grade level speech contest on this Sunday, Nov 17; This Sunday will be our grade level speech contest for all non CES classes. 5. 光华中文学校校旗登上南极洲; G5B班的学生任才和她母亲任新柳女士,正在南极洲探险。临行前专门带上了我们中文 学校的校旗,让我们的旗帜和他们一起登上了南极,迎风飘扬。


6. Emergency Text Messaging & Emergency School Closing Information; Our Guanghua Chinese School is using Montgomery Country Community College(MCCC) at Blue Bell for our Sunday education activities. When inclement weather or an emergency forces the closure of the College or a delayed start of classes, we will have to follow MCCC arrangement and close or delay Chinese School accordingly. MCCC Announcements will be made using the Omnilert text message and email system, the College’s website, TV monitors, regional television and radio stations and social media. Voice messages will also be placed on the main College phone numbers (215-641-6300 for Central Campus).

We will also continue to issue special announcement regarding school closing via our email system and Wechat group.

7. Children are a Gift: Baby and Child Safety Night; On Saturday, November 16 Venture String Quartet will play at two events as part of a Baby and Child Safety Night. Safety ideas from prenatal care through childhood will be shared by guests Karen Patota, Founder of A Baby's Breath of Jeffersonville plus Jen Sweeney, Business Director of Community Ambulance Association of Ambler. There is free admission with donations accepted for the organizations.

See Cristina's Crib, Kitty's Kitchen and Carl's Car and share ideas about how to keep little loved ones healthy and protected. The string quartet, founded in Ambler Symphony, will play music related to the safety techniques presented.

The first event, a Family Concert, will be from 5 to 6pm at Ambler Borough Hall Gym, 131 Rosemary Avenue, Ambler. Bring a blanket for a picnic with some light refreshments provided. A few short pieces by Haydn, Debussy and Richard Rodgers are planned to be performed.

The second event is a Full Concert and Coffeehouse at 7pm at Calvary United Methodist Church, 16 Park Avenue, Ambler A very lively entire Mendelssohn Quartet in D will be added to the music of Haydn, Debussy and Rodgers. The festive music will be followed by safety discussion with guests Karen Patota and Jen Sweeney in the coffeehouse with refreshments.

The events are sponsored by Families with Children from China Delaware Valley, a local adoption support group. Even one safety idea learned to save an injury or a life is invaluable. See flyer for detailed info.
