1. Thank all the efforts and contribution that our students, parents and teachers of Guanghua to make our another successful CNY Gala of 2018. Also a special thanks to our leadership team for their hard working and organizing this big event!

However, there is a big issue last Sunday. Some parents and teachers didn’t follow the rules and brought food inside auditorium. After the show, we found there were so many crumbs and scraps of cracker, chips, and pretzels under the chairs and paper all over. It took us a long time to clean them up. It is not acceptable. Please bring your child out of the auditorium to eat if they needed next time when we use the auditorium.
2. Changes of the Guanghua Leadership Team: Our beloved deputy principal Lijun Zhang has made a decision to retire from the leadership team after she dedicated to the cultural and sports classes at Guanghua and was responsible for all the performance in the communities, including big event of Guanghua--our annual Chinese New Year Gala for last eight years. Please join me to salute Lijun for her hard work , talent and her contribution to our school and the Greater Philadelphia Chinese Cultural Center. Wang Wei will take her position at the Guanghua Chinese school.
3. The annual poster contest will be postponed to April 15 due to our school will be closed on March 18 (MCCC’s spring break) and April 1 (Easter). In March, we have classes on March 4, March 11 and March 15.
4. 2018 Summer Program Registration: Guanghua Chinese School Summer Program Registration has started. This year is our 5th year running summer program. We made improvement and surprised students and parents every year. This year, we offer themed week and invite professional teachers from China to join us. You may go to the website www.gpc3.org/summer for more detail information. If you are interested and you have not done the registration yet, you may register online through the website or come to school office 345 for the registration. Our registration table opens 1:30pm - 4:30pm this Sunday, March 4th. Multiple discounts are still available. See you then.
In order to help our parents to learn more about the theme programs, school has invited all the instructors to give a talk on March 11 @2:00pm at Room 345. Please come to the school office on time.
5. No School Day Service for Spring Break
Spring Break is around the corner. March 26 - March 30, we open from 8:30 - 5:30. Chinese class, Chinese Cultural Introduction, Math and Science Class, outdoor activity, and field trip, etc. We offer snacks morning and afternoon. Lunch also can be purchased from us. 6. Dance instructor Lynn Zhou would like to give students who are interested in dance and have a few years of experience to join her Dance Troupe over 10 years old. The Audition is this coming Sunday March 4 @12:00 at MCCC Multipurpose Room (Dance Studio)
7. Yoga instructor He Fen will give a free yoga at the Cultural Center this coming Saturday March 3 @6:00pm. Donation to GPCCC is welcome. Please come.
8. Students who signed up for the Chinese SAT simulate test must come to Room 345 this coming Sunday no later than 11:50am. The test is starting from 12:00pm. Please bring #2 pencils for taking the exam.
9. Ivy Experience Seminar on March 4: Please join Jim Wismer, the Director of Ivy Experience, as Guang Hua Chinese School graciously hosts a. COLLEGE PREP SEMINAR: An enlightening afternoon with invaluable information about navigating the college prep and application processes on March 4 @2:00 @ 344 room.
10. Jay Eibner, the Troop Committee Chairman of Boy Scout Troop 542 will come to our school on March 11, @2:00pm at Room 344 to give a presentation about Scouting to the boys in our school. Mr. Eibner believes the program is not only fun for the boys but is also educational, trains them to be leaders, and, most importantly, builds character.

为庆祝元宵节，宾州华人科协，光华中文学校和UD华人协会将于2018年3月3日星期六举行免费的元宵节聚餐晚会。活动包括聚餐，文艺表演，交谊舞，卡拉OK和扑克娱乐等。 请携带食物展示您的烹饪技巧。亲切地邀请您和我们一起度过一个欢乐的元宵之夜。
时间：2018年3月3日星期六晚上6:00 - 晚上10:00pm （6-7 pm 聚餐，7-8pm文艺表演，8-10pm交谊舞，卡拉OK和扑克娱乐）入场免费。请带食物与他人分享。
